Roasted Snackables

scroll

One of the best things about Winter is enjoying warm and comforting food! Delicious slow cooked casseroles and generous hearty roasts are big favourites for us, and they have inspired us to enjoy Snackable carrots in a different way!

Snackables are ideal for cooking because they require very little preparation; no cutting or peeling – just cook them as they are. They can be enjoyed steamed, pan-fried or roasted. Cooking Snackables brings out their natural sweetness, so they taste delicious. Nutritionally, it can also make them even better for you.

All carrots naturally contain beta-carotene, which gives them their deep orange hue. Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A in the body, which is essential for things like good vision, boosted immunity and healthy skin. By cooking carrots including Snackables, you increase the amount of beta-carotene your body can absorb.

A recipe for one of our favourite ways to enjoy Snackables this winter:

Pre-heat your oven to 220°C. Place whole Snackables on a tray lined with baking paper.

Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper then bake for around 25-30 minutes. Oven-roasted Snackables are delicious without any additional seasoning, but if you would like to try some different flavours; fresh rosemary and thyme work well, so does a drizzle of honey or even a sprinkle of cumin seeds before roasting. Enjoy!
